Because we really needed one, a suggestion box!

A comm is only as good as it's members, after all.

Normal rules apply, yadayada, no flaming, blahblahblah, check to make sure we haven't done it before it you can.

Some good things to suggest:

. EVENTS. Because your mods imaginations can only go so far.

. Rule changes. In case we're being pricks about something and haven't caught the hint yet. This includes changes in app formats, etc.

. Specifics about the shelters. Should there be a hospital, gym, marketplace? Whatever you think applies.

If you've got some burning question that you can't find an answer to, go ahead and ask here. Questions about Otter's personal life may or may not be ignored. It really depends who finds it first, doesn't it?

1. So. It's post apocalypse. What's the world like now?

It's gone pretty far down the crapper. We've got a couple billion people now, but that's been reduced to a sickly 500 million. And because of the plague-like weather, crazy mutated animals, and overall nasty conditions, people live in close-knit (bordering on overcrowded) communities. There's a wall, and in that, an inner ring, and an outer ring.

2. Inner ring? Outer ring?

Yep. Outer ring is kind of how you'd expect living to be in this era. Dirty, crowded, and dank. There's still electricity and running water, things like that don't just go missing, but it's a bit haywire as it is. Oh, and that water probably isn't heated, unless you want to do that manually.

Inner ring is a bit better. Think of it like today, but, toned down. No HDTV or iPod's or anything like that.

Oh, and it's tough to cross the barrier between inner and outer. Especially trying to get in.

3. So how are we communicating again?

Electronic journaling devices. Since everything is such a meshed-together mess, people need them to communicate without butting too many heads. Of course, since they're electronic, if anything's wrong with the system in your location, they won't work.

4. What's so important about location?

It's how we're gonna sort out events. Six locations, one on each continent. Except Antarctica. Unless you want to freeze to death.

So, pick one. Depending on how your modliness feels, North America might be getting acid rain, monster swarms over in Europe, smog eclipse in Africa. Or, nothing at all. Nifty, eh? Also, know something about your location's culture, because holidays are still in effect.

Also, try not to have more than one character in the same location. Because we have a feeling South America and Africa won't be getting proper love, and everyone will be living in Asia.

Journals can work cross continent, if you try at it hard enough.

And it's possible to move from one location to another, but it'd take some serious effort. It's not easy to charter a plane these days.

5. What kind of occupations are there?

Be creative, if it's believable, we'll probably take it. But please, not too many thieves. It gets boring, trust me.

Oh, and being a bum is totally find with us. Live in a cardboard box, if that's your thing.

6. What if my character has canon powers?

You can either rid yourself of them completely, or, offer a toned down version. Swing it by us in your app, we'll tell you if we approve or not.

THE RULES

--Rule no. 1: Treat others as you’d expect to be treated

Be nice. That is to say, OOC’ly! Characters are, of course, allowed to hate each other’s guts. As long as the reason they do is not an OOC reason! Which brings us to…

--Rule no. 2: IC =/= OOC.

You’ve all seen it before, but you’ll see it again: things that happen IC’ly, such as a feud or a fight, does not mean the feud has to carry over into OOC interaction. It’s fine if your character’s a jackass, just don’t be one yourself, or there’ll be trouble.

--Rule no. 3: Stay in character.

It’s an AU, and we realise how being in this kind of a situation would change your pup (and their backgrounds), but Lelouch Lamperouge suddenly being a Nice Guy Desu~ will not work. We See What You Did Thar, always.

--Rule no. 4: No Trolling

Okay? Never. Never ever ever. Trolling means posting specifically to insult, ridicule, or otherwise hurt other players. Also known as ‘flaming’. You If you have problems with another mun, try to sort it out over AIM, IRC, MSN, or whatever creative IM service you want to use. If it doesn’t work, don’t resort to flaming-come to us, the mods. It’s what we’re here for.

--Rule no. 5: There’s no character limit, but if you pick someone up, stay active. If someone else wants to pick your inactive pup up, that’s a huge disappointment to them.

--Rule no. 6: No godmodding ever.

This means that you can’t say, “And then [pup 1.] started choking [pup 2] and [pup 2] died. Unless you play both characters, of course. Phrase your comments or posts so that the other mun has time to respond to whatever you did.

--Rule no. 7: It’s okay if you want to introduce an original character. In fact, it’s encouraged! However, because OC’s are harder to write and have a good grip on, we ask that you first settle down with a character from a fandom before you do that.

--Rule no. 8: Please put up the character's info and background story up in your profile. Otherwise, players joining later who don't know your character/fandom/background will be confused.

--Rule no. 9: To keep the rp active, please post at least once a week. If you’re unable to post for some time, post an announcement, or tell the mods.

--Rule no. 10: We’re not squeamish, but if you’re going to post things that are (for whatever reason) explicit and nsfw (not safe for work), tag them as such.

--Rule no. 11: Regarding Death Note

It is the experience of the moderators that Death Note characters have a tendency to kill roleplays as effectively as they kill each other. So, a rule. Please, take a different fandom character first, and play with them for a while. Then, try applying as a Death Note character.

No, this isn't because we haet Death Note!!!!oneoneleven, but because, well, in three past experiences, they've come like the plague and left nothing in their wake. So, respect that, please!

THE PREMISE

Sometime in the future, a third world war occurred, turning the world into a nuclear wasteland. The global population was decimated, and the way of life as we know it was completely destroyed. However, through sheer determination and will to survive, humanity learned to cope to a certain degree with the cataclysmic conditions.

Now, 150 years after that nuclear holocaust, people live in large communities in highly localized places. At the very center of these communities live the most privileged denizens who are afforded some degree of comfort. They have luxuries like heated water and a surplus of power and food. For those living in the outer rings, things are not as good: cold baths are the least of their problems, with animals mutated into monsters by nuclear exposure attacking them on a regular basis. Though there is a wall surrounding each community, these walls are often breached and the people of the outer ring are prone to attack. There are some who live outside the city walls, but these are mainly people with a death wish or something to hide.

Even with the standard of living as low as it is, people still manage to muddle through the day. For children, a normal day consists of waking up, going to school, eating, and sleeping, with some mixed in free time. This holds true for all students in primary and middle school, after which school is not mandatory. It is, in fact, a privilege, with very few outer-ring youths attending high school and college. Adults have a similar schedule, though they work instead of attending school. Jobs are largely utilitarian, the main fields of employment being technical jobs, guards for the city walls, farmers, merchants, etc. Life is harsh, but a one must do what they can to survive.

This is an AU RP, so prospective muns will need to write a new history when applying. Be creative and detailed when doing so; it’ll give you more to work with when actually RPing. A character’s personality should be the same as it is in their own series, though some changes can be added to reflect the setting of the RP. Muns will also need to decide what community their pup will live in when applying. There are six to chose from, one for each continent other than Antarctica. It’s also required that you choose where the character lives within that community, either inner ring, outer ring, or outside the city walls.

Each character will need a personal journal for interaction. Interacting in these should be largely first person, since they represent communication devices every acidic_earth resident has. There is also a log community (acid_logs) for all your third-person RRing needs. If you have any questions about anything Acidic Earth related, feel free to contact one of your mods. We’re friendly, really!
